An afternoon session covering immediate implant placement and restoration — lectures by Dr Jadwat followed by a live demonstration of implant placement and temporary restoration fabrication. HPCSA-accredited CPD points.
Immediate implant placement — placing an implant into a fresh extraction socket at the time of tooth removal — is one of the most clinically efficient and patient-friendly protocols available to the modern GP implantologist.
This afternoon session walks delegates through the core immediate placement workflow: case selection and contraindications, extraction and socket assessment, implant placement, and the restorative phase including temporary restoration fabrication. Dr Jadwat delivers two focused lectures followed by a live demonstration using Southern Implants systems.
Suitable for GPs who have completed basic implant training and are looking to expand their scope into more efficient, single-visit protocols.
Identify ideal candidates for immediate placement and understand absolute contraindications
Plan the case using CBCT data and digital workflow tools
Execute atraumatic extraction and socket assessment protocols
Place the implant with correct 3D positioning for the immediate site
Apply grafting material to the jumping gap and manage primary closure
Understand immediate loading criteria and the restorative timeline to final crown
The session runs from 13:30 to 17:30 and includes two lectures by Dr Jadwat, afternoon tea, and a live demonstration.
Identifying ideal candidates for immediate placement, understanding absolute and relative contraindications, CBCT assessment, risk stratification, and planning the immediate implant case from diagnosis to surgery day.
Atraumatic extraction technique, socket morphology assessment, correct 3D implant positioning in the immediate site, jumping gap management, bone grafting, and primary closure principles.
Live demonstration by Dr Jadwat covering the full immediate placement sequence — from extraction through implant placement — followed by fabrication of a temporary restoration, including immediate loading considerations and provisional design.
Open question and answer session with Dr Jadwat. Delegates are encouraged to bring case questions. Session closes at 17:30.
* Programme is subject to change.
