Pterygoid Implants Expanding Options for the Atrophic Maxilla
August 29
Course Description
Pterygoid implants provide a graftless approach to maximizing the anterior-posterior spread of implants and
avoiding distal cantilevers. Successful pterygoid implant-based rehabilitation requires technique-sensitive
surgical protocols and a thorough understanding of pterygomaxillary anatomy. This course will provide an
overview of the advantages, anatomic considerations, and surgical and prosthetic treatment planning for
pterygoid implant placement. Attendees will be guided through step-by-step hands-on surgical techniques
for three different pterygoid implant connections and relevant prosthetic components.
